My name is Charles Ranaboldo and I am a senior NHS Consultant Vascular Surgeon based in Salisbury. I perform some 100 varicose vein operations per year in my NHS practice and a similar number privately, and I am the lead clinician for our 100 strong team of Vascular Surgeons at Alliance Surgical.

Typically, at your first consultation your specialist will help you decide if you need the procedure, performing simple tests or an ultrasound if necessary and will aim to do this all at your first visit. If a procedure is required, we will discuss a suitable date for treatment. Admission would be on the same day as the procedure, and within 1-2 hours you will be taken to theatre. We will always aim to get you home the same day with the reassurance of a structured post-op recovery plan.
